- You have to put the socket that comes with the board in the WD socket on the
- A3000 motherboard and put the WD chip in the new socket. Then connect the soldered
- cable with the Apollo. You need "current" 3.1 KS ROMs, otherwise no go.

- Well, I've similar problems. I ordered the 3060 before Xmas ('95) and got it
- within ten days. Plugged it in - no go. Called OffLimits / ACT several times for
- help. Didn't work. Not even the Workbench.
- Then I got sick and tired and sent it back together with my A3000 to get the stuff
- running.
- After 2 weeks I called back the guys at ACT who told me that their technician
- is off for the US for several weeks ! After he came back and after tracking
- him down at ACT he told me I had the "wrong" 3.1 version (I bought 3.1 ROMS
- during the C= liquidation). There goes another DM 170,- (Needless to say
- they didn't have them in stock, so there goes another week or two).
- Finally, some time ago I got back my A3000/3060. At least it booted the
- workbench, but everything else (my own progs, SAS/C compiler, most
- SysInfos) crashed within few seconds or minutes. Even the Screen Blanker
- (Splines) freezes sooner or later.
- So two weeks ago I sent the beast back again to fix these problems.
- Nothing happened. Called back at OffLimits/ACT. They promised to fix it "soon".
- I wonder how they'll do it since they ripped off the card from my A3000.
-
- Now we have easter and still no working A3000/3060 !
- Thank god I've still my A1200.
